Do you wear only turtlenecks and chokers to hide neck lines?
Ah, those neck lines! We all hate it but stopping aging isn’t possible. And, neck lines signal that you’re aging. However, you can delay the formation of neck lines. These neck lines don’t appear all of a sudden. But, we don’t give much thought to them unless they become noticeable.
Most of us ignore caring for the neck. If you don’t follow your CSM (cleanser, serum, and moisturizer) skincare routine, the lines on neck are likely to happen. We’ve turned to a dermatologist to learn the causes of neck lines and to find a fix.
What Causes Neck Lines?
Natural habits and aging combine together to form neck wrinkles. According to Joshua Zeichner, the director of cosmetic and clinical research of dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in NY, the factors causing wrinkles on the face also lead to wrinkles on the neck. Activities making us fold our neck lead to the formation of lines on the skin of the neck. It means that the more we use mobile devices, the more wrinkles are formed. Due to this reason, many young people today have neck wrinkles.
How to Get Rid of Neck Lines?
1. Drink Enough Water
Hydrated skin remains supple and healthy. Drinking at least 8-10 glasses of water daily prevents neck wrinkles. Water keeps your skin hydrated and maintains elasticity. The longer the elasticity is restored, the more your skin will look younger.
Exfoliate the skin of your neck at least once a week. It will remove dead skin cells and trigger cell regeneration. Plus, exfoliation has a cleansing effect. This cleansing effect will make the skin glow and prevent wrinkles from forming.
3. Moisturize Daily
Moisturize your neck daily. Moisturizers work to make the elastin and collagen function properly. Use an oil-free moisturizer so as not to clog the pores. Applying moisturizer will also tighten the skin of your neck. Consequently, your neck will not have sagging skin.

4. Do Exercises
Not only do exercises can prevent the formation of neck lines but can also heal the existing wrinkles. Exercises strengthen your muscles by pulling of the skin of the neck. As a result, the wrinkles of neck get smoothed and the sagging skin gets tight.
Sit straight on a chair. Tilt your head up to look at the ceiling. Pucker your lips as if you’re kissing someone. Hold this position for 10 seconds. Then, come back to the normal position. Start with doing 2 sets of 5 reps. Over time, increase this repetition.
5. Wear Sunscreen
Sun exposure is one of the primary causes of neck wrinkles. Make sure the sunscreen you’re using has an SP of 30. To keep your skin protected from the sun, reapply the sunscreen after every two hours. Wrapping a scarf around the neck before stepping out in the sun can help.
